Another phrase I like to use is “skin cancer is the cancer you LIVE with, if you’re lucky”. Regardless, I don’t feel LUCKY. I was diagnosed with my first basal cell cancer at 26 and have spent the past 11 years in and out of surgery, alone (sadly) wondering if anyone else on this earth is living this way and at such a young age!! I have decided to “step out of my box” and would like to share my journey with friends, old and new. I am hoping to connect with others that share the same existence.

I am not a writer….nor do I desire to be. I want to be real. I have contemplated my approach to this Blog for weeks and have stressed over “my voice” and how it will be perceived. Am I alone? My doctor has assured me there are a lot of other young folks out there with skin cancer. I am suspect. I do hope that I am able to get my point across and reach out to others in need of a good laugh or even provide a bit of support. I would also like to provide and share insight to great products/ideas for the sun sensitive to support a Sun Savvy lifestyle.
